Red or Gold CCS use
Getting ready to splurge on the polisher, wanted some advice on pads.
Everyone seems to talk about the Yellow/Gold/Orange CCS and occasionally the Black or Blue CCS. No one seems to mention Red or Gold.
Has anyone used the Red or Gold and how would their use differ from the Black or Blue?

Re: Red or Gold CCS use
I have the red and the black, the red is softer than the black and I use it to apply my lsp.

Black is nice for polish is there is little to no cutting power need so after orange you can switch to black if orange did the job correcting.
I use blue for my LSP or I do it by hand.

Re: Red or Gold CCS use
Get the Hydro-Tech pads Lake Country Hydro-Tech 6.5 Inch Foam Pads, water-based polish pads, foam buffing pads for water based compounds
Only 2 to make it simple and apply your lsp by hand. These are great pads, I will not be buying any more CCS pads unless I need a very aggressive pad or a super soft.
I have red and blue and the gold in the CCS and I never use them. Way easier to apply LSP by hand. The only 3 CCS pads I use (before I got my hands on the Hydro-Tech's) were the Orange, White and Black.

Bucksincolt, actually I won 1 each of the new Hydro Tech pads that I owe Meghan a review on.
Can't do it until I get the polisher though!
Should I just get some extra Hydro-Tech's then?
Still interested if anyone uses / advocates the Red/Gold pads. Seems like no one uses them.

Thats what I would do. Did you read my review on the 6.5" HT's? Review of the New Hydro-Tech 6.5" Pads
I owed this review to Meghan too, I'm really glad I got these because they are great and I doubt I would have tried them without the freebie's. Thanks Meghan!
They finish so well you are ready for the LSP.

Re: Red or Gold CCS use
I did read the review, very informative. The pads seem to be getting nice reviews/comments, although as a polisher noob I won't know the difference.

I was using the blacks for applying glazes, but I don't really do that anymore. I also didn't like that the black pads tended to get saturated with product and made it more difficult to clean them. I have not had that problem with the red pads yet. My go to pads are orange, white, green (polishing and finishing), and the red now.
