I actually only use the all-white ShMITT (I have two of them) for the paint.

I've actually used the black ShMITT on paint, I didn't notice any marring but then again the vehicle that I used it on had horrible swirls/scratches that I'm sure it would have been hard to nitice waht the ShMITT may have caused. I like using the black ShMITT on cars that really need it and that I know I'll be doing paint correction on.

I'll never use it on my Lexus even if it did needed it. I'll stick to my white ShMITT.

Shaking my head.... a black shmitt on paint!

    Straight from the autogeek website:
Black Wheel ShMITT: The black foam is very coarse. The black ShMITT is best used for scrubbing wheels, tires, and the undercarriage. It can also be used for stubborn spots on interior vinyl, but not if it’s already been used on the tires or undercarriage. This could cause cross-contamination. Our recommendation is to reserve this mitt for cleaning wheel wells and tires. The rugged foam will easily dislodge tar and grime using your regular car shampoo and water, or a degreaser, like DP Cleanse-All exterior surface cleaner.

I have used the yellow ShMITT on real dirty paint with no problem. I didn't notice any marring at all. Black ShMITT is for wheel only IMO. The white one with the yellow backing is the best IMO.

Well, I've been out for few days and I noticed this when I came back. I can't say why I didn't get swirls with my black one. The only thing I can think of is that it was used some before and I let it soak in a fresh wash mix every night. I do this to prepare for the next day in advance. I bet this may have something to do with it.

I'm sorry about your paint. I never pushed this on anyone. I'm sure you all know that though.
