    Finally Got it!!

After trusting the recommendation of my friend Bryan, I went ahead and ordered the Rupes 21 with both BP's from Kevin Brown. I got 4 Rupes pads too. He shipped it out to Detroit at the end of December, but I wanted to wait to pick it up until after we returned from our cruise so I could import it into Canada duty free. I just got it yesterday. I am hoping to get a chance to play with it in the next few weeks. I can't this weekend as I now have to put on my Winter Tires and Sunday I'm shooting in a competition. I am looking very forward to playing with it, that's for sure!!

    Very awesome Richy
My friend has the 15 and after using it I am very impressed with the machine. I am looking forward to your thoughts on using the 21 with the smaller backing plate from the 15.
If it works out well that may be the way to go with the Rupes.
I would also like your feedback on the use of the machine with and without the washer mod.

To be honest, I proably won't even bother running it without the washer. I have the bigger Rupes pads, so I'll probably try it with those first and then switch to my Buff and Shine pads with the smaller BP. I just need some time which I won't have for another week.

    Congratulations Richy!!

From what I hear and read, the Rupes BigFoot's supposed to be quite a machine. I'm very interested in hearing your review as I value your opinion greatly....

The 5" backing plate can be ordered for the 21 and will fit? I'm really wanting the 21, but thought it would only accommodate the 6" backing plate it comes with, no?

Please share your thoughts when you take them for a test drive. Did you get some Rupes pads too? Did you get yours from Kevin with the washer mod?

I will for sure Troy. I'm just disappointed I won't have a chance to play with it for a while. I shut down for the winter but will try it on my wife's hood that needs a bit of work.

Thank you Bobby, that's a very kind thing to say. I promise I will provide some honest, detailed feedback when I get it. Several guys I know got one after getting a Flex and hating it. I love my Flex, so I'm really curious about how this will feel to me. The only thing I've heard (but haven't experienced yet) is that it gives a strong pull on initial startup. I'm very interested to see how it corrects vs Flex vs rotary. I will give Kevin Brown a lot of credit for this: when I was asking him questions on the phone about it, I told him that I correct with rotary and wool for the bad scratches and then proceeded to ask him whether it would correct as well as that and he said "No". I was happy to hear the honesty. I do think DA's have their limitations when it comes to correcting compared to a rotary. Yes, the gap has narrowed a bit, but it's still a gap.
