Lake Country ruined their wash mitt.
The red Ulti-Mitt wash mitt used to be double sided so you could flip it around on your hand to the other side when the first side ran low on suds, and just keep right on washing. I loved that feature and the foam is otherwise perfect for tough but scratch free washing. But now it's only half as good.
So if you have one and want to buy another (like because the one you bought for your GF split at the seam after only three washes, *Argh*) be aware that it's no longer double sided.
Why Lake Country, why..?

Mine is also one side red (cubed) and one side black (smooth). In the picture of the one on Autogeek one side is red (cubed) and the other side is red (smooth).

Actually, the dual sided was done specifically for Autogeek. Our normal ones come in 1 side cubed and the back in grey. The gold version is awesome for washing.

So now I have to yell at AG instead?
Hey AG, request more double sided mitts from LC will ya! That's such a perfect mitt.
Oh btw... I bought a second double sided mitt for my wife and the two halves separated up by the finger tips after just a couple of washes. (that's how I found out about the change, I bought her another one) Is there any way to remedy this? Can it be glued, and if so what kind?
Wait isn't the gold/yellow one for scratch resistant surfaces and not paint? I have one but it's only for glass, tires and the like.

If my memory serve me right the Lake Country Ulti Mitt I bought was from PBMG and it is red-black version. So PBMG is not selling their version of Ulti-mitt =_=??
Anyway Gold Ulti-Mitt is different from Yellow Ulti-Mitt.
CMA (a competitor of PBMG) had some kind of agreement with Lake Country and only CMA has rights to sell products of gold foam that is finer than the red foam.
After CMA went out of business PBMG did not pick up all the gold foam products. They only sell the red foam mitt and yellow foam mitt (made of hard cutting pad foam material) now.
I still have 15 brand new gold constant pressure 5.5" flat foam pads that is no longer available now lol.
