    Micro Fiber towels

Is there a real difference between 80/20 and 70/30 polyester/polymide filament towels?

I would think the 70/30 would be softer and maybe more durable, if i had a choice?? the 70/30.....i think the 80/20 is for glass cleaning.

test each on the back of a cd (music) and you will see. The 80/20 usually scratch more due to the higher polyester count.

I believe that the difference is that the polymide (nylon IIRC) component accounts for the absorption performance. As far as quality towels, the ratio does not seem to be a factor as I have quality towels in the following weaves: 70/30, 75/25, 80/20, 85/15 and even a couple of excellent glass specific towels made in Japan which are a 50/50 blend.

80/20 towels are good for removing wax and 70/30 are softer and great for drying .the 70/30 are to soft for removing wax. both towels dont scratch

I personally wash my MFs after every use. I wash with Woolite on a warm cycle and do two rinses. Then I hang dry them.

I use Micro Restore on warm water and dry them with no heat and two blue dryer balls. I'm actually transferring my towels from the wash into the dryer as we speek!
