Metro blaster sidekick

I'm considering getting the Metro Blaster Sidekick. I only want something to blow out water from cracks and seams. I always find water streaks or spots after driving the car after a wash.

The full vac/blower is too expensive for me. I also like the compact size of the sidekick.

Does anyone have experience with it? Pros/cons?

I'm sure if you went down to the local Home Depot you will be able to pick a leaf blower for less money and accomplish the same thing most of us use a leaf blower .

Or an air compressor (just not too powerfull)

The metroblaster looks kinda like a hair dryer. If you are truely on a budget you could just use a powerful hair dryer on the "no heat" setting.

maybe a stupid idea but it just popped into my mind.

I have a leaf blower...it's great for blowing off pollen and dust. However, I find that I end up blowing some dust on the car when I try to dry with it. It's also a bit cumbersome.

I did check out the Air Wand but that was pretty costly...if they made a hose/adapter to fit various models, I would consider it.

Have one as well. It's a pancake model. It does not provide anywhere near the needed continuous cfm's needed. I tried it and it was cycling on and off constantly and would lose air pressure. I guess a larger tank would do well (and I have thought about it for carpentry needs) but those are very pricey and I have no room in my garage for it at this time.

I believe the metroblaster is much higher powered. However, your idea (which is not stupid at all) is worth a try. I'll have to hijack my daughter's to see it works.

Home Depot also has a very small shop vac that is a blower. I'm thinking a crevice nozzle on that should speed up the air enough to blow out cracks. I may give that a try (it's ~$20).

I was given the reco to buy a small compressor instead as more useful. I was also told that oil-less compressors are noisy.

I purchased an oli-less air compressor about a month ago from Lowes. A little over $100. It is noisy but that is the only downside. I just turn it on and let it run for less then a minute. When it's up to about 140 I do my thing. I also use it too blow the dust off the car every couple days. Just remeber to open the drain valve when not in use so the moisture evaporates from the tank.
