Re: Dynabrade DB8 Geared Dual-Action Polisher
Unless this force rotation polisher is substantially cheaper than the Flex, it's going to be a tough sale.
Why would I want to buy a machine with no track record like the Flex unless it was cheaper. Flex has a reputation for reliability.

I can agree with this 100%.
But to add, I have used Dynabrade tools in an industrial setting for years, and they are superb quality. If I was looking for a forced rotation DA and this comes in a good bit cheaper then Flex, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one. If it’s more, then Flex has the sale.
Also, If it’ depends on the rotation speed, oscillation speed and orbit size. I didn’t see those specs yet. If those are crap, then it’s not even a consideration.

We are yet to see Flex reputation and durability since the Chinese took over the brand.

This tool will do just fine. P&S and the detail mafia have a cult following

He probably wouldn't do it if the opportunity presented itself. I doubt he's concerned about how many units sell. It's more about presenting himself as a top shelf product.

Re: Dynabrade DB8 Geared Dual-Action Polisher
for those who aren't familiar with Dynabrade, they are the ones who inspired the Long Throw (Orbit) Concept with their Random Orbital Polisher Head Kit.
* Unique random orbital motion minimizes haze and halo effects, while reducing burn through of top coats
* Turn your rotary buffer into a swirl-free finishing tool Fast, easy conversion and removal
* Large 3/4 Inch (19mm) offset simulates hand polishing action
