Lake Country Purple Wool. Blue is newer with more foam backing but I still like the purple better. Cuts well and finishes great. Only a light polish is needed after. They are my go-to cutting pads. Look through any of my details in the show and shine forum and you'll see most were done with Purple wool and basic ulitmate compound. 3-4 passes and panels were fully corrected with near beautiful finishing. Again, just another 2-3 light passes with a light polishing pad and Essence or M205 was all that was needed for most all of them.
The beauty of the 3401 is it doesn't stall at all; not on curved panels, thin bumpers, not anywhere. Even the long throws will slow/stall and require more time overall or the use of a smaller pad. They also don't work well at all with wool because they aren't forced rotated and the longer fibers just oscillate around too much, which is why rotary units and the forced rotation of the 3401 do so well and blitz right through imperfections.
