Clean paint before wax?
I'm planning to detail my car paint by hand. I have meguiars color x. Will this be enough to clean the paint before wax or can use something better to clean the paint. I will be clayaing before all that. Will be topped with nanowax

Re: Clean paint before wax?
Meguairs color x should give a slight deeper cleaning while adding luster after claying also such product can potentially give you a true unwaxed paintwork for your said wax to bond too....just my thoughts

If you want to do it correctly you should be removing all the contaminants in and on your paint prior to putting any wax on. You should buy a product called iron X that sprays on the car and removes all Iron deposits in the paint and pulls them out. After that process you should also be doing a full clay bar

•Considering your paint reconditioning processes
(sounds like the vehicle is in a fairly satisfactory state)
-Wash;
-Clean (claying, and paint cleaner)
-Seal (NanoWax)
...then, IMO:
-Meguiar's SwirlX, and/or M205...would be
*better choices* for the Clean/paint-cleaner step.
Note:
*better choices*, in this case, means:
better than using an AIO (ColorX)—since
you are going to be using the NanoWax.
•Keep in mind that:
-Claying may introduce some "marring" to the paint.
-The paint cleaners listed above have the ability to
remove such "marring".
