The advantage of applying 845 by machine is while it might save a little time, it does allow you to spread the product out nice and evenly. Remember, thin is in!
What he said. As for cleaning the pad I use Maintex cleaner from Costco. I use the hottest water my hands can take then mix about 2oz of Maintex and work my thunbs thru the pad squeezing the wax out. After I have them as clean as possible I rinse then air dry by spinning on the DA or Rotary. Be advised that you will never get 845 completely out so you may want to have some more pads around and keep the 845 pad for collinite products.

Where in Chicago are you? Lots of good folks in this area who I'm sure would be willing to help you out.

You may want to try, HD Speed - All-In-One Polish & Wax first. Make it look very good And remove any minor scratches. Then apply your fav wax/sealant

You're going to want to do paint correction etc. before throwing any wax on top of a non-properly prepared paint.
Wash, clay, iron-x, polish(es), etc. I'd also put a sealant on it before applying the wax.

Now why in the world would you do that. 845 is just as good if not better than some sealants. Now if your looking for 9+ Months there is 476S.

Re: First DA to Apply Wax

Thanks everyone for the great responses. I went ahead and ordered the GG6 and a couple red waxing pads. Think I will pick up a pre wax cleaner like Pinacle as suggested. By summer I will probably get used to using it and try a correction. I live in the South suburbs near Orland Park and it was a great day today so I was at least able to get out today and wash it. Picture attached.

The paint is in great condition but it is black....so you can see some swirls. I have never let anyone else wash it but myself with the two bucket method (Well one time the dealer washed it even though I had four signs in the car...and put a scratch in the quarter which still bugs me to this day....but I had it with that dealership)..I do have to realize it is a daily driver.

Thanks again everyone for the responses.
