Polish + Pad combo for ppf correction

    Hello everyone,

Recently one of my cars was missed handled and there is some correction needed. The parts I’m unsure of are the X-Pel ultimate ppf covered parts. There are hard watermarks that aren’t going away with spray on water spot removers so I figure buffer correction is needed. What pad and product combos would you recommend as a start to most aggressive option? I have my list of products below and use the rupes family of da buffers. I figured I would start with zymol cleaner wax by hand, then sonax pf with a rupes white pad, then yellow as my most aggressive. This is rather new as I know ppf can get hazy quick so I’m hesitant on even us sonax pf let alone a compound. Also what speed for my buffers? 1 only?

    polish & compounds currently owned:
    -rupes da polishes and compounds
    -sonax pf and cutmax
    -jescars correcting compound
    -gtechniq p1
    -zymol cleaner wax
    -megs 105 & 205

    pads owned currently
    -rupes: blue, yellow, white
-lc ccs: yellow, orange, white, black
    -megs mf cutting pads

Re: Polish + Pad combo for ppf correction

Not sure if this helps, but I used BF One Step, white LC foam pad, Griot's set at 2 on our RV's ppf. Not sure which brand of ppf as it was installed by dealer before we looked at it, but it seems pretty stout. The haze/swirls/spots are courtesy of the "detailer" they use on their lot. The ppf is installed about 1/3 the way up the hood but you can't tell from the pics where the edge is. The last shot is a 50/50 trying to show the before and after. The BF cleaned it up real nice without marring or peeling. The first pic gives an idea how bad the ppf looked.

    Before

    Right side done

Side note: I later used PBL Matte Finish ceramic trim on the gray plastic grill pieces and they look brand new.
