Looking for a new DA: Should I go GG, Rupes?

Honesty, if your just polishing cars occasionally you will likely be fine with any PC style DA. I still have the original PC 7424, and with the right accessories it can tackle almost any defect.

But, the question is (as I see it), do you want something "nicer"?

It's the same old story- you can drive to work in an old pickup or a new Mercedes - either give the result - you get to work. However, the journey is different.

If you have $500 of cash burning a hole in your pocket - I'd get a Rupes, along with their pads and polishes. I'd prolly get the Mark II as well - as if your spending that much cash, you may as well get the latest and greatest.

You will still need the PC style DA for <5" pads.

Thanks guys. Maybe I'll just upgrade my HF DA and go for a PC or Griots.

    Thanks all.

There's no difference from Porter cable to harbor freight you would be throwing money away.

The grits garage 6 inch is a upgrade tho as it has more power.

You either go grits garage 6 inch, rupes 15 or 21 boss g15 or g21 or flex 3401.

Porter cable is not a upgrade in fact I think the harbor freight has more power.
