Menzerna power lock w/ DG601 (experiment)

After many hours spent reading about finishing sealants I decided to pull a trigger on Menzerna Jescar Power lock. Initially wanted to try DG 111, but the price wise for DG 111 8oz (amount of product x2) was as much as for Power lock 16oz after applied discount w/ free shipping (thanks AG).

Preparation and application routine was nothing special, everything was done by hand.
    Preparation:
    1.
    D114
2.Nanoskin and Riccardo clay with ONR as lube

    Application:
    1. Layer of PBWBH glaze
    2. Menzerna Jescar Power lock
    3. Marque D’Elegance 915 sides, front, hood and back
    4. Collinite 845 on roof only

Speaking of PBWBH glaze, I noticed no improvement whatsoever on tricoat paint if applied by hand. I consider it as worse item in my arsenal. I don’t even regret having CG Butterwax I got many years back than BH glaze. As a matter of fact D156 works 100x times better hiding micro swirls than PBWBH.

Getting back on topic, here is the main thing. Since I have super limited time, and car is parked 24/7 outside I cannot afford a luxury to wait 12 hours before next application. So, I decided to experiment. I added a drop of Duragloss 601 to 2 drops of PL on Meguiars foam applicator. Ambient temperature was 66F (Haha in NYC in December), humidity was 35%.

I layered Powerlock/ DG601 over removed layer of PBWBH, waited 45 minutes to dry and result was mesmerizing. The slickness and look of power lock beats DG105 by a mile (I have been using DG105 for 2 years now). I was so tempted to leave sealant as it is, but I didn’t know if temperature is going to stay that warm and dry in December so I applied 845 and 915 almost immediately.

Instead of snow we are having pouring rain lasting almost a whole day 3 times a week intermittently. The sky poured with rain already 5 times since glaze/sealant/wax were applied.

So far so good, application holds well. Here are the pictures, red caviar anyone?
(The picture w/o beads is after driving 2 miles, speed 20-30mph)

Re: Menzerna power lock w/ DG601 (experiment)

sorry to dig this old tread out. but i have been a huge fan of duragloss and collinite and it has been months since my last collinite bottle runs out and its so darn hard and expensive to get it shipped here.
i just started to use Powerlock and im liking the ease of application and removing and the looks it gives. almost similar to collinite

other than faster curing time, any other positive results you observed when u mix use DG 601 with Powerlock compared to using powerlock by itself.
better looks? more slick? powerlock is already very slick by itself.

    Drak.
