    Restoring/maintaining rubber window seals

I don't want to just re-blacken the rubber around my car's window as a dressing would but is there a product that would re-nourish and maintain the softness/moisture, sort of like a "lotion."

The rubber is still in good condition but want to start maintaining it before it's too far gone and replacement is the only option.

This is the best plan of attack, that is start taking care of these surfaces while they're still in great condition instead of letting them go to the point of replacement and then trying to find a miracle product to try to safe them.

    Besides that,

"Find a product you like and use it often".

Here's a product you can use for rubber window seals plus your tires and trim... this stuff really works great.

Review - NEW BLACKFIRE All-In-One Trim & Tire Protectant

A few months ago Nick came to me and says,

"I have this new product for you to test out, it's an all-in-on tire and trim dressing"

I think, ho-hum... just another tire and trim dressing. Then I start using it. And using it. And using it.

    This product is freaking awesome!

    Why?

Because it cleans, conditions and protects in one step.

While that might not sound like rocket science most trim dressings require you to FIRST clean the trim. Most tire dressings require you to FIRST clean the tires.

Not so with this product. Simply have a few extra microfiber applicators, towels and brushes handy to work, agitate and wipe-off any excess and going from dull and boring to WOW is fast and easy.

Plus since it's an all-in-one product you save money since you don't need any dedicated cleaning products.

2012 Chevy Traverse - Cosmetic Engine Detailing

At our last detailing boot camp class we teach two types of engine detailing.
Full engine detailing - That's where you use an engine degreaser and actually wash out the engine bay using running water.

Cosmetic engine detailing - This is where you simply blow-out the engine compartment with air and then wipe the engine compartment down using some time of dressing.
I let my class use the new NEW BLACKFIRE All-In-One Trim & Tire Protectant to do cosmetic engine detailing to this 2012 Chevy Traverse.

    Before

    After

    Before

    After

It works GREAT for doing cosmetic engine detailing and the above took less than 15 minutes!

If you're simply working on your own cars you can include this as a part of your Saturday wash and wax and get it done fast.

If you're detailing for money, then adding cosmetic engine detailing as an upsell is a money maker.

    1956 Chevy Bel Air Convertible

Here's the whitewall tires on a classic 1956 Chevy Bel Air Convertible.

Wipe on and agitate using a microfiber applicator pad

    Wipe off the excess....

    DONE!

Quick, easy and the results are beautiful!

Ugly to beautiful - The tires on a 1932 Ford Phaeton
Same detailing boot camp class, here's a 1932 Ford Phaeton that we used to teach how to use Steam Cleaners to do interior cleaning as well as machine polishing to remove the swirls.

The tires were dull and lifeless until we took BLACKFIRE All-In-One Trim & Tire Protectant to them with a simple wipe-on, wipe-off.

    Before

    After

While I'm a HUGE fan of the DP Tire Coating Kit there are some times when it's not practical to do a dedicated tire scrubbing, (scrubbing till the tires are completely stripped of all previously applied tire dressings), and for projects where it just doesn't make sense to do the steps required to apply a coating to the tires this is the next best thing.

Not just because it's fast and easy but because the results are simply phenomenal.

It's now our go-to product for cosmetic engine detailing, plastic trim restoration and cleaning and dressing tires in one-step.

Get some. Use it. Like it.

    Thanks ronkh57 and Mike.

I'm looking for a product that not just coats the surface but can work itself down below the surface and restore some of the properties of the rubber and not need to be used frequently but only once or twice a year.

Gummi Pfledge looks like something to that effect. I'l order some from AG. Thanks.

Gummi Pfledge is an effective maintenance material. I apply it 3-4 times per year. Works great!
