    Re: D114 first impressions

I've also been wondering if IPA could be added to make it winter WW to prevent it from freezing. But, I wonder if the evaporation once it's on the surface would speed the freezing.

I've been looking for a cheaper pre wax cleaner. What ratios are you guys using with the IPA, water, and D114?

    sounds intriguing.
For me... a much cheaper Eraser alternative!

Can't say I'd ever go 2oz to 32oz, just too much. Remember... it WILL leave visible streaks @ 128:1 (if not immediately wiped off).

I've settled pretty much at 192:1 when making a 30% alcohol solution... or 256:1 with a 20% solution.

IMHO... The stronger (30% alcohol) solution benefits from a bit more 114 for lubricity. IOW's... it doesn't streak, and it cleans the surface of oils from even Menzerna products.

I am surprised that I have part of the initial run. It has been out quite a while and I just bought it

    Re: D114 first impressions

Ive used D114 extensively for a while now. I absolutely love it. I really enjoy that its nothing but a cleaner. Nothing is short changed to include protection, polymer coatings, etc.

It is a straight cleaner and is just great. I use the two bucket method with the Meguiars open mf fiber mitt and gritt guards. It leaves nothing behind and works quite well.

Definitely one of if not the most powerful rinseless in terms of cleaning power. It has remained a staple for me since I first tried it.

Me too! I ordered some when AG first got it of course, but must be on my 3rd or 4th gallon now, (which is where I checked the verbiage for this thread).

    Re: D114 first impressions

i finally used this on MY car; i've had my car garaged since the fall. i moved it from my old garage when i needed to get the roof redone in the winter, into my new house garage and it has sat there ever since. i have been so consumed with everything "house" for quite some time, especially since we actually moved in about two months ago. so, i haven't driven it, washed it - nothing. anyway, in my old house, i had a softened hot/cold feed in the garage. i had to get systems installed here (softener, ph) but left the outside bibs out of the softener loop. i wanted a utility sink with softened hot/cold and hose connection at the faucet and basically told myself as soon as i get that, i'll finally wash my car. well, today was the day. the plumber asked that i move my car out of the garage even though he wouldn't have been near it. i took it for a loop around the area to get the slight flat spots worked out then i parked it outside so he could work. sure enough, after a few hours, it rained! dusty residue + rain = terrible look so what better time to FINALLY wash! i did a D114 wash at the correct "off label" prescription of 1oz/2 gal. used the same towels i used earlier in this thread but used less because my car is smaller than my wife's truck. i have to say this stuff is not bad at all. i still think it's a hair residuey but that's not anything that can't be remedied with a quick pass with the wet towel and some blotting with the dryer.

i still HATE trying rinseless wheel washing because you can't reliably get the barrels clean and on my car, that means a lot. so, at some point soon, i'll do a regular wash for the wheels and tires like i usually do with all my brushes and such. but i did a decent job for now.

this garage had some small areas that needed to be sealed up and it was cold when we first got here, so i guess mice were coming in to get warm. welp i saw little mouse paw prints on one of the wheels in the dust. just glad they didn't decide to camp out inside the car anywhere!

PS: did this forum change formats or something? i can't remember if it was vB before or not, but something has changed.

Just because you have product with the initial run of labels, doesn't mean you have the initial run of product. They might have done 10 runs of product and are still on the original buy of labels.

I'm trying to remember some Optimum product where they either changed the name, but on a certain size of product it was still being called the old name until they ran out of labels, or actually I think it was a product change that they didn't do until they ran out of the old labels. Something like that.
