    Critique my set up?

    Hey folks,

A-List Mobile Detail here out of Florida. I've been cleaning cars for about 2 years and just started by detailing business. Can you all let me know what you think about my set up and give suggestions? I'm a part time detailer with a full time job as a cop. Thanks for your comments!

Buffer: Griot's garage Boss 15 using lake county foam pads and megs microfiber cutting and finish pads.
    Ridgid shop vac
    Bostitch portable air compressor
    Dewalt 3500 psi pressure washer
Megs D300 and D301 compound and polish
    Megs M105 compound (D300 is the go-to)
    Menzerna P21 sealant
    Opti-bond water based tire gel
Purple power decreaser for the tires
Megs AP for interior use along with lexol leather cleaner and conditioner
I use scrub brushes for the carpets, no steam cleaners yet.
Microfiber towel for drying, megs liquid carnuba for waxing and a foam gun for washing.
Chemical guys citrus wash and hyper cleaner for the shampoo.

I use a two bucket method and put my stuff in the back of my pick-up...no trailer or dedicated van.

    Thanks everyone!

I am by no means a pro. But I know Purple Power is around 11.2 ph. I would be careful with that around some metals and paint. Also might want to think about a foam gun. Saves some time IMO. Good luck with your biz!

BTW might want to list where you are in FL people are always looking for good detailers.

This looks like a pretty good setup. I wonder if you want to explore waterless/rinseless washes to simplify some of the jobs. You can use the gamma seals on buckets with your microfiber towels so you can have them ready ahead of time. In any case thanks for your service as a cop.

That's a pretty good starting collection.

There's lots of dedicated tire cleaners and all purpose cleaners you can use instead of purple power.

Also. Moved your thread out of the "Into forum" and into Detailing 101 as it will get the right attention here.

Thanks for the critiques so far! I really like the idea of premixing before I get to the job! I'll be using that for sure.

And thanks for moving the post...much appreciated!

I'd recommend getting either Megs D156 Synthetic Spray Wax or D115 Express Wash & Wax for those times when you want to add that finishing touch after a wash. Works great on alot of surfaces, even plastic trim.

I would ditch the lexol, the cleaner is kinda of week and the conditioner smells nasty and the customers don't like it.In place of those items ultima cleaner gel and conditioner.
