    Duragloss 601/105 combo

Could somebody please explain this combo to me? Do you mix the two products together? If so, at what ratio? What's durability like? Does anybody know of any threads that feature this combo?

It occurred to me that I have been hearing about this combo for years but never really understood it. Can you top it, with say, something like Collinite 476? Or is that unnecessary?

The ratio is 4:1 (4 parts 105 and 1 part 601) The combo needs to be used when your ready to do the car as when combined its got a limited shelf life. Some people say the combo is what they use as an LSP and from what I've read over the years here it works! DG #501 has great cleaning abilities, so don't be surprised to see dirt on your applicator pad, its normal.

As far as topping, because the #601 is apart of the mix, your ready to top it right away and Collinite is a fine choice for sure!

Here are some other threads you can read up on about 105/601 or 501/601. 501/601 at a 4:1 ratio was my go to combo for the longest time for clean/polish/seal details.

An outstanding combo for a DD, IMO. I really like DG501 and DG105, not so much for their gloss, but for their dirt and waterspot shedding ability. Every fall I do a different wax / polish combo, usually involving a Collinite product, looking for something that will get me through an entire PA winter on a car that sits outside 24/7. This year I did DG501/601 in September, then DG105/601 in October, followed the next day by Collinite 476. This has been the most severe winter we've had in quite some time, but the 501/105/601/476 combo is the best severe duty prep I've ever seen. Once the weather warms up and I do my thorough spring cleaning, I'll probably play with a bunch of other LSP's through the summer, chasing that elusive "best", but there's no doubt what products I'll be spreading come late fall.

Do you apply like a WOWO or do you let it haze before wiping off? If letting it haze, how long do you wait before wiping off?

Let them haze. As far as time, just do a swipe test. DG tends to be a fast-drying product if applied thin. If you've not used any Colli stuff before, just remember thin, thin, thin.

    Re: Duragloss 601/105 combo

When applying in two separate steps, how much product of 601 is applied to the paint? After I apply 601 to the whole car and letting it dry to a haze, can 105 be applied on top to the whole car also or does it have to be done panel by panel? Does application procedure affect of how well it protects the paint, like working the product into the paint as opposed to just 'waxing' it on? I'll be applying by hand with a blue microfiber applicator pad. I've read that combining 105/601 into a bottle with correct ratio activates a small chemical reaction. Is that chemical reaction the same when applied in two steps? If mixed in a bottle, how do you dispose the unused portion?
