Re: HD Speed questions and observations

I've used hd speed 3 times now and it's absolutely outstanding. I'm still hesitant to brag on it because it's just so good I can't believe it

Correct I find menzerna 3 in 1 cuts better than speed, however speed leaves better protection behind.

Yeah, 4000 is not an aio, you are absolutely correct sir, but it sure shined up my automobile real perty that day. Looking forward to using the Speed and how about CPs "Essence". Holy cow I'm gonna have to sell the chicken coop.

    Peace,

Re: HD Speed questions and observations

I have yet to try Speed but I'm psyched to do so (received it last week), as I have no doubt that the glowing reviews are not simply hype. Essence could be a game changer if it is priced competitively, but I have my doubts that it will be as cost-effective as D151 or Speed in a production detailing environment.

Remember to do the entire vehicle and let the Speed dry prior to wipe off, this is important to the longevity of the protection.

I like the XMT360, but may have to give Speed a try...

I've never used a machine or polish period, I'm planning to order the griots garage 6" and some lake country pads as well as whatever pads come in the griots 6" polish and sealant kit. Been trying to decide what kind of polish sealants etc to pick up with it. Think HD speed would be a good choice? Maybe some other stuff just depends how good the Black Friday cyber Monday sale is!

What pad are most of you guys using? Foam or microfiber. I've been loving microfiber recently as Ive had most German vehicle's but have yet to try the HD Speed I just got in.

Dont' bother with a kit--you usually get things you don't need or will never use. Get the GG6, equip it with a 5" backing plate and 5.5" pads -- Buff & Shine, Megs THIN pads or the new LC thin pads and it will handle anything you throw at it with the right product. You may also want to pick up a 3.5" backing plate and 4" pads for the tight spots.

Make sure you get enough pads. Here's an article by Mike Phillips regarding the number of pads: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/...ut-my-car.html

IMO an AIO and specifically HD Speed is a great product to start with (exactly what I started with)--enough cut to see some dramatic improvement, but nothing so aggressive that you can get into trouble.

HD Poxy is a great LSP to top the HD Speed--check out post #15 in this thread.
