Can you do AMAZING detailing without machines???
Can I walk into an interior job with a bag of goods and get out stains etc without a steamer or extractor for example???
Same question goes for engine bay and all.

Yes you can. You're gonna at least need a shop vac tho. A steamer and extractor just help you do the job more efficiently. Without those tools depending on the condition of the vehicle you're gonna have to use a lot of elbow grease and may spend more time on it.

It is possible for you to get a similar amount of correction.
But it will take much longer and be an astonishing amount of work.
Just be careful that you don't do what so many before you have done. And that is press so hard to get increased "bite" that you actually dent the body panel.
So just get a standard PC and make it easier on your self.

Yup. You need a vacuum or some serious lungs. You can use a wet/dry vac for sucking up excess moisture in carpets, you can switch it to the blow function to get some air circulation and aid in drying the carpets (a clean blower is recommended so you aren't blowing dirt back in)
Blotting methods will work instead of extraction, but take much more time.
More agitation and wiping works without a steamer, but takes much more time.
I think you'll find that even a cheap bissell little green machine and mcculloch steamer will save you so much time that the initial investment will pay for itself very quickly with the increased hourly rate to can realize (charging same rate but getting done faster, and on to the next job)

Truth be told, I ended up investing in a McCulloch mc1385 three days ago... I just wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting time with the initial investment.

I don't have addictions of having 1000 products or a must have At the end of the day it's all about profit ,will different products help you save time yes, but I will work faster and smarter and keep overhead small and profit high without the need of fancy smancy products and certain tools.
