    Better than Rain-x?

I just bought Duragloss Rain Repel, and was very hopeful, as it had good reviews. Rain-x is a pain to apply, and just doesn't last that long.

I tried the Duragloss Rain Repel, and its convenient, being a glass cleaner. It does bead the rain, but it doesn't allow you to drive with the wipers wiping less: the water doesn't stream off the windshield at speed. After the 12 days of rain here in NC, I have reluctantly put Rain-X back on.

Anyone have other suggestions? I don't really want to get to high dollar glass coating, but if they outperform Rain-x and last much longer, I might consider it.

Car Pro's Forte would be my choice.

You may want to try this.lasts longer but I find it a little more fussy to apply than Rain-X.

Aquapel Glass Treatment, Rain Repellent, glass sealant, windshield protectant, Aqua-pel glass wipe

I started using 845 on glass. Going on 4 months on my windshield and my wife's. I don't use my wipers much and it still sheds water great, she uses her wipers a lot and I need to reapply on her windshield.

Is that a single windshield per applicator, or can you somehow store it for additional applications?

Once the seal is broken, you must use all of it.

And Aquapel doesn't go very far either. I did my windshield on my small Kia, and I think I did the two front side windows with "Vapor" that was left.

Second time I used it, I got some tips here, popped the applicator facing up, not down, spread it thinner, worked like DATA on Ster Trek, and then barely got the side windows too.

I wasn't impressed with Aquapel's performance or longevity either.

And the second time I used Aquapel, I went to the nines cleaning-prepping the glass beforehand. First clean with Invisible Glass, then Clayed, then used Pinnacle Cleaner-waterspot remover, then 91% Alcohol, then CP Eraser.

I didn't think the stuff lasted any longer than Rain-X IMO, both times. It's one product I'll never buy again, even if the applicators were 59 cents each.

I do the same, Collinite 845 or DG 105 on my windows.

You can do two out of one treatment, but you have to have all your ducks in a row. You have to work super fast.
