    Windshield coating and wiper skipping

I'm looking for a new solution to this problem.

When I had my windshield coated with G1, I initially didn't have any wiper skipping, but after a while I noticed skipping of the blades. Annoying. I had the blades replaced, but it didn't appear to be a blade problem. Then I coated the windshield with 22PLE VG1 and it fixed the skipping - - for a while. As a coating, it's working very nicely, but the blades skip. The only thing that helps now is to use some DG #751, as it lays down some water repellent. But, if there's a heavy rain, that repellent must wear out since the blades skip again.

Any thoughts on getting something effective, durable and slick on my windshield to prevent this issue?

Wiper blade skipping/chattering is the reason I do not use any coating on my windshield.

I use Detailer’s Glass Coating, glass sealant, rain repellent ... works like a champ. Surface prep is key.

i have Opti-Glass and no apparent skipping. i have it on two cars but only one sees rain so that's a very, very small sample for you. sorry i don't have more info but i do know my wife loves barely ever having to use the wipers on her car.

i know OPT formulated Opti-Glass specifically to not be affected by wiper abrasion. that's why they have it vs. just recommending applying one of their paint coatings to the window. maybe skipping is from when the surface becomes inconsistent from the product wearing away and/or accruing contamination.

I have Opti-glass as well and haven't noticed any skipping in the two years since it was coated. In fact I have been very impressed that its lasted this long. I do you silicone wiper blades (SilBlade). Not sure if those helps any.

I had a lil chatter when I applied Carpro Forte, applying Reload to my wiper blades fixed that.

While on Glass Repellants, do any of you think some may be harmful to Wiper Blades? Some I know have touched on the belief that Rain-X kills Wiper Blades?

I usually get chatter at some point with some I've tried being Rain-X, Aquapel, and I have used products like Opti-Seal. In time, the chatter always comes back.

Think it might be Oils, Road Films acummilating on the Glass in time? Or?

Also, I try doing like some folks do here, clean blades with Carpro Eraser, then apply Carpro Reload. Note lots of brown dirt-crud comes off the blades with Eraser, does not look black like it's rubber coming off.
