MF Sponges - Do you wash before 1st Use?

Bought the 6 pack of MF sponges her on AG and plan to use them for a variety of applications in my car detailing.

Do you wash these before first use? Like we do with MF towels?

What are your concerns if you did not wash them prior to the 1st use?

No concerns really...just know that washing new MF towels prior to first use is my routine and had never thought about the sponges before. Washing the towels I suppose will clean and "condition" them for use, and didn't know if the group treated sponges the same way.
