Best Canopy for detailing Pickup truck

Hey guys - Looking for a good canopy to be able to detail my pickup. Unfortunately it gets real hot around here and the sun is in the perfect position ALL DAY to prevent me from getting any real shade. That said, I am not sure what size will be big enough. I have a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali. Thanks!

I've seen some people do two (2) 10x10 canopies, but I prefer something a bit bigger. I've been eyeing a 20x20 canopy with side walls. Amazon has them, and I believe I saw my local Menard's had one on sale the other week. Really, I think it comes down to what you need. I want something I can get my entire truck it, doors open, and still have enough room to move a cart around in, and get all of my tools in there.

Does it have to be portable?

If not get one of the huge, steel framed monsters that Costco sells. It's 12 feet wide and twenty feet long. And the lowest point of it is 8 feet high.

For sure get at least 12x12. Two 12x12's would be great if it isn't jacked up. EZ UP is among the best regarded brands.

I've gone through quite a few 10'x10' tents (legs breaks etc.)
I now have a Coleman 10'x10' that works great and is solid.
The "trick" I've found is the size of the thickness of the legs.
Again, like stated above it depends on the size of the truck.
I've done quite a few F-150's under the 10'x10' with no issues.

Thanks guys. It doesn't have to be portable per se because I am just using it for my own personal vehicles. I was looki at the one from Costco mentioned above, but they are not carrying them at the moment. I might have to wait until they bring them back because I really liked that one.

Re: Best Canopy for detailing Pickup truck

I thought about getting a canopy to work under when I do my truck to. But I guess I am concerned about the time it takes to put it up and take it down. If your not going to do a 4-6 hour job is it worth it to put it up?

If I did get one I thought about putting hooks in above above the garage door opening so I would only have two legs/supports.

I find it best to carry a allen wrench, plyers, and scew driver that fit my canopy. Then tighten them down every so often. They last longer snd bend less.

Check local bylaws before putting up a semi-permanent or non-portable one.
