    Jet Seal Vs Powerlock Sealant?

I had Jet seal first and was pretty satisfied with the results. I never knew how long it actually lasted tho.

I heard nothing but great things about menzerna power lock.

I love menzerna products so i went and ordered a quart.

I will say the product stretches a whole lot a few dots can do the whole side of a small car so a little goes a long way whipe off is easy and truly shines just like a wax imo

However i am not impressed with its water repealing abilities. I PL a customers car and he came in for a routine wash and for the pre rinse it was not beading sheeting pretty pathetically.

I said okay maybe i did it wrong so one of my good customers came in with his new GT-R i cleaned with dish soap whiped with IPA and then did two coats of PL i applied thin coat with da with even coverage i let it bond for about 30 mins and whiped off the second coat i did the next day.

Again he came in for a routine wash pathetic beading.

    I was scratching my head.

So my neighbor in my buisness plaza got his van detailed by me 5 months ago i polished it and applied one coat of jet seal....

He came in for a wash (i have not washed it since that 5 months)

I rinsed it cleaned it and the water was beading sheeting like crazy off the car i was shocked at how long this stuff lasted and not just a little it was as if i just applied it to the van.

I shot the van with water then the GTR side by side and the vans hood barely had any water while the gtr looked like it has no wax protection at all?

Am i doing something wrong here?

I do agree power lock outshines jet seal however that van is a daily driver and i dried the whole van without ringing the towel out once thats how good it repealed the water.

Anybody else have the same experience ?

I prepped the cars good i waxed and seals tons of cars so im not crazy i even stripped the GTR to make sure?

    Any thoughts

I've never been impressed with PL, it's been gathering dust on my shelf for a couple years.

WG 3.0, BF WD, HD Poxy have all yielded superior results compared to PL for me.

Just because there is no beading doesn't mean the sealant is gone. Don't know what to tell you.

Ive seen up to 8 months still beading with Powerlock. This went through a Chicago winter on 2 different cars I used it on.

Re: Jet Seal Vs Powerlock Sealant?

I use to punt PL alot till it gave me a week at the sea side, no beading or sheeting from 2 coats 24 hours apart. Same car same location with Collinite kept on going strong months after. I then substituted PL with WGDGPS 3.0 and it blew me away, even slicker, glossier and considerably more durable. I now have FK1000P but its been raining so no chance to try it out. Hoping it clears up as weather forecast says its clear tomorrow.

The mixed results from PL may bexa reason they reformulated it

    When did they do that?

I do think the second bottle I purchased was a little better especially in terms of application but this was at least a year ago.
