    flat black pillar faded

Please tell me how to restore faded pillar that was painted matte black (not flat black)

It's half of the pillar is not taking the trim sealant very well no matter how much I applied.

If it is actually painted, then trim sealant is not the way to go. A product of that type is designed for plastic molding or rubber trim.

Can you describe where the trim is on the car? When you say "pillar" are you talking about the b-pillar between the front and rear doors, i.e. the are where the door meet which covers the b-pillar on the frame?

On my cars, the material in that area ranges from matte painted metal to shiny plastic pannels snapped into place, to some sort of strange rubberized material (found near the c-pillar on my Mazda3 hatchback). Each takes a different product to get it looking good again.

    Re: flat black pillar faded

I do not know if it is painted or wrapped, I have seen both ways.
I am considering having someone wrap it gloss black though.

The wear comes from the sun and maybe someone always using their hand on one spot to close it. As the sheen is uneven through out even after cleaning.

It's the trail edge of the front door and leading edge of the rear doors, hope it makes sense.. many cars have this black pillars.
