    wax remover

i've never used wax removing products,
i usually removed exising wax by polishing it, but one of my friend asked me if i can prep his car for vinyl wrapping.

quick research shows i need to wash the car and stripped down all the way/ sealant but i do not have wax remover and do not want to spend extra money on chemical that i will barely use.

but I do have DP paint prep polish.... do you think i can just rub this with micro fiber pads as wax remover??

Usually the person doing the vinyl wrapping,
does their own prepping of the surfaces of the
vehicle that are going to be wrapped.

    Regardless...
Below are listed a few products that are
advertised as being able to strip Waxes:

    •Meguiar's D114 (diluted @1:4)
    •DuPont PrepSol
    •3M Prep Solvent
    •Wurth Clean Solve
    •Klean Strip
    •Hi-Temp Akrya Klean

    IMO:
If you're going to go that route...
Then you might as well use your
    usual wax-removal method:

I am still waiting to see DuraGloss Squeaky Clean for exactly this application. As i intend to apply a coating to my DD i will be wiping with CarPro Eraser after polishing but would love to do more with a pad and my PC.

    Just to note:
Whenever I "clay"...I always, at the very least:
lightly polish. That in of itself has surely removed
any remaining remnants of Waxes. Afterwards?
    I then apply an LSP.

    I find this interesting:
There's a comment on my ClayMagic box that says:
    "remember to polish/wax after claying"

I have always taken that as a gentle
reminder that, after "claying": I'm not
really done with the "cleaning-up processes".

    Bob
I take that to mean not that the clean up process is not done, but rather the wax has been removed and the paint is unprotected.
