Mine fit snugly, no problems with them staying down.
Detailing is a way of life, not a hobby!

I did not get them locally. I ordered mine online from US Plastics along with several 16oz. spray bottles for some of my chemicals.

Only way to fly, IMO 5 gal are too deep. I have my 3.5's in bucket dollies.

I guess this is a good reason to take a GG when you go to the store. I was specifically looking for buckets that are too small for the GG to go all the way down so I could build swanicyouth's DIY pad washer without having to add something to make the GG stay half way up in the bucket and the Lowe's blue buckets worked great.

This. Cheap and you can get a bunch of each for less than the cost of Big Box versions, and better quality, too. They also carry squeeze bottles and wax jars if you are looking to transfer old product out of broken containers. Plenty of stuff that you can add to your detailing kit, if you dig around the site.

I use a six gallon bucket, as many soaps call for 1 oz per/ 5 gal.... The 5 gal bucket needs to be filled, almost to the brim, which makes moving it, spill. I use a 5 gal bucket for the rinse the wash mit bucket. This helps distinguish, which bucket to toss the wash mit in.

5 - 6 gallon buckets, grit guard fits fine.

Hmm...or you could use a 3.5 gal bucket, put 2.5 gallons of water, and .5 oz of soap...nah, that's crazy talk.

Talking Re: Wash bucket 3 or 5 gallon

It's like the 3 bears story, the six gallon, is just right, not to small, nor too big

Oh shoot, if you're doing rinseless all the more reason to use 3.5 gal.
