Hey guys, a buddy of mine recently was in a parking lot of a construction site. A can of spray foam sealant (like "Great Stuff") was ran over, spraying his car with the foam. Anyone know of a way to safely remove it??
Depending on how thick it went on, you may be able to get some dental floss or fishing line behind it to remove the bulk. Then I'd try a solvent of some kind, i'd go for a gallon of tar removal/body prep solvent as you will probably need a lot. Then I'd try clay. If all else failed I'd use the plastic razor blade and a bunch of clay lube to scrape it off.
There's a product called Motsenbocker's Lift Off. I've used it to remove silicone caulk from a bathtub. It works by dissolving the bond between the caulk and the surface and supposedly works on foam sealant. Got it at Home Depot. I haven't tried it on foam sealant and certainly not on car paint, so usual disclaimers apply. But foam sealant is a royal pain and its probably better to try something chemical instead if mechanical first.
