Somehow I missed this bird dropping on my hood and of course after seeing it "this is going to leave a mark"
Hit it with M105 and sure enough it had etched into the clear coat.
I cut a small piece off a 3M Trizact 3000 sanding pad backed with a small piece of cardboard. Fresh water in a spray bottle then with gentle pressure I sanded out the etching. This step took less than a minute with just a small amount of water. Hand rubbed the 3000 marks out with M105, SF4500 then Blacklight. It took longer waiting on the blacklight to haze/bond than the repair itself. No need brake out the buffer or having to wash a pad. Then topped with the usual products used earlier on the truck.
