Help Disinfecting Boat After Raccoon Damage

Hey everyone! Over the winter a raccoon got inside my pontoon boat and did some major damage. I sent off the seats an upholsterer and now I'm stuck with the job of cleaning/disinfecting the carpet, console and undamaged seats. What product would you recommend to do this? I read good things about OdoBan but I'm not sure how I'd apply it. I have a carpet cleaner for my house but I don't really want to suck up raccoon pee with it. Maybe a rug doctor? Any help would be much appreciated!!

Well it's kept covered so rain doesn't get to it. Does D101 disinfect?

How about mixing up solution of Pin-Sol? It disinfects and leaves a fresh pine scent.

Wash the boat well using your boat wash or car wash soap, scrub everything you can, then rinse really well. Next spray pine-sol diluted with water. Original Pin-Sol supposedly kills 99.9% of germs.

That's a good idea! How would you recommend doing the carpet then?

If you can hose off the carpet, for example blast the carpet with water and the water simply runs off the deck of the boat then scrub with a carpet cleaner, flush really well with water then spray on the pine-sol, allow to dwell for a few minutes, maybe scrub it in too and the flush it off with water.

I Ship Shape TV I show machine scrubbing with Porter Cable 7424XPs and Cyclo polishers, both with Cyclo brushes on them as a machine always outperforms the human hand when it comes to scrubbing.

You have to be careful about using electric tools around water though or you can get hurt. I only use the PC and Cyclo because they are double insulated. I also use GFI outlets.

That's besides using common sense. If you want to be safe then just stick with hand scrubbing.

Hope it's okay to post this link.

It's the way to go as it biologically attacks the source.

Nature's miracle found at a pet store. My girlfriend has friends that have full blown kennels. They buy it by the drum. Will take away all that piss smell.

I'm more so concerned about disinfecting it. There isn't a smell from what I can tell. I'm concerned about the diseases raccoons carry. I don't want my family members walking barefoot through that.
