Yesterday was doing a 1 step polish + seal for a client on a 2013 Panamera in WHITE. I figured I would use Menzerna FG400 on a orange cutting pad, followed by a black finishing pad (without more product). Swirls where medium, however, even with 4-5 passes of the DA, it would not correct.
Mind you, this was not a corrective job, but I was expecting good correction with menzerna fg400. After doing test spots of deciding on which product would be my solution for the job, I had the best results with menz fg400. Is there a trick to porsche paint? Or is it time to whip out the whool and rotary?
That's weird, because I used a Flex 3401 with an orange pad with XMT360, and topped with Souvergn and the car came out mint. XMT is not a heavy cut product, but i'd say it removed 80% of the swirls in the paint without issue. And yes the paint is quite hard IMO but not hard to correct.
Not sure it's apples to apples comparison but....white Porsche paint I've used a Flex 3401 and a LC hybrid white pad with Menz 2500. This is go to combination for Porsche. Always do a small test panel and evaluate results. Hope this helps.
BTW, you need to specific which LC pad line you were using since they change around the colors. Flat, CCS, HT, Hybrid etc.
Since we are talking Panamera's. I have a Metallic Blue 2012 and I was hoping for some tips on masking this car. I have tried following Mike's videos where he tapes out an older 911 but I seem to be missing something in the translation. Any tips would be great. Also I have been using Griots for the most part, what are some of the polishes/waxes you use on yours?
Porter cable 7242xp paired up with lake country pads (orange + black)
What size backing plate and pads are you using?

It's not weird as the op is using a PC and you are using a Flex 3401, no comparison.
