Re: Porsche Panamera paint
What do you mean, "without more product" when using the black pad?
Were you just going over what was left on the paint from the orange pad?
Did you use a polish, or dry buff?

Porsche Paint is soft IMO. About 2 weeks ago I worked on a Boxster. I used a Flex 3401 w LC Hybrid Orange Pads and Menzerna FG400 on Speed setting 4-5. I did not have to make too many passes as the Paint was easily correctable.
I followed up with a LC White Hybrid Pad with Menzerna SF4500 on speed setting 4-5. I believe Wolfgang Finishing Glaze is on par with Menzerna SF4000/4500
Menzerna Powerlock with a LC Red Hybrid Pad followed with Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax with Gold LC Hybrid Pad....Both settings at 2.
Again, not too many passes for compound/polish and sealant and wax.
For the PC7424 XP (I have one). I would try the same route as I did with the Flex. The LSP would be at speed setting 3 as it is not as strong as the Flex
Here are a couple of pics (BTW, I suck at photos and their is a lint spot in the lens which shows up as a spot) Additionally, the day was grey and cloudy so you really couldn't see the reflection too well. I did the best I could

Re: Porsche Panamera paint
The following is the equipment I used on the white Porsche Panamera:
-Porter Cable 7242xp
-5" backing plate
-5.5" Lake Country Black, White, Orange pads (FLAT)
-Menzerna PF2500, SIP 1500, FG400
I did numerous test spots, leading me to my most aggressive combination. Even after 4-5 passes, 70% of swirls remained. This was not a corrective job, but after utilizing my most powerful cutting combination I was shocked to see what remained.
It's never too late to learn a little.

Kyle,
I didn't let the fg400 finish on the orange pad. When it was about halfway worked, I switched to a finishing pad to finish off the fg400. I did not dry buff, just buffed the lighyly worked polish on the panel. In some cases used some water if it looked dry.

Has to be the rotary. Get a flex. It's night and day. I have both. Haven't used my Porta once since buying the 3401. I keep it as an emergency backup.

I have used the same exact combo you have used on many a Porsche with the same results. I switched to a Groits Boss 21 and the swirls are gone. I don't think the PC is good at removing deep swirls on Porsche paint(or our Audi). I can't comment on other paints/car brands.

Re: Porsche Panamera paint
Why on earth did you stop mid way and go to a pad with virtually no cut? If anything I wouldve jumped to a yellow pad. I'm doing my bosses porche soon.
