Guz, have you used Opti-Bond? If so what is your comparison of the two (shine, durability, etc.)? The cool thing about Opti-Bond is how it is not greasy feeling, even if you get it on your hands during application.

    Re: Meguiars Hyper Dressing Question

I think I'm going to get another pump garden sprayer just for Hyper Dressing. Seems it would give better coverage and be more precise over engines and in wheel wells.

I have not used opti-bond. I switched over to the Turtle Wax tire coating for a bit on my previous set of wheels and tires. I heard good things about opti-bond. But with these new tires I am went back to D163 for the time being since they are being finicky with browning so I don't want to waste a coating on them until they start behaving.

D163 is not greasy feeling either. Like any tire gel it just needs a little bit of time to dry. Have you ever used Adams Super VRT? The consistency of D163 reminds of it.

One thing to note is that D163 can be used on trim but it won't last that long. I tested this after 7 days it's almost completely gone. On tires it's great but not so much on trim.

    Re: Meguiars Hyper Dressing Question

I like hyper dressing for the price.

I apply with a 4' paint brush 2:1 on tires 4:1 on motor/wheel wells and wipe the excess if any.

    Re: Meguiars Hyper Dressing Question

Amen to applying tire dressing with a paint brush. Took me years to finally try it. I've thrown every applicator out that I used on tires.
In my day we didn't have the Internet, iPods,iPads, or smart phones....but we had some really bad-azz cars.

Nope. It's just like every other robin-egg-blue-smells-like-bubblegum-looks-like-Pepto-Bismol product out there.

Sorry mods, I should have looked at this post first before starting a new MGHD post.

The results you got are fantastic!

    Re: Meguiars Hyper Dressing Question

I tried posting the pic but the format was invalid. A guy on the Meg's FB page posted a pic of his engine using HD at 15:1 and it came out great.
