D114 Dilution Ratio as a WATERLESS Wash on CQUK?
Hey boys and girls. Meg's D114 Express Wash was made available to my local market (thnx OldeTownAutoSpa ) and since my car is coated with CQUK I wanted to use a WATERLESS, not RINSELESS wash on it, so I chose D114 as it doesn't leave any surfactants or polymeyers that could mess up the coatings water beading characteristics. Anyway my question is what dilution ratio should I mix this in a 32 ounce trigger bottle to spray on the vehicle and wipe away?
Since CQUK is such a durable coating I want to use as much D114 to water as I can to get the most cleaning ability. If my car was waxed then I would obviously tone down the ratio to prevent it stripping the LSP, but since its coated I want to know how powerful I can mix it before it starts to do damage to the coating, if at all? Or would using it neat effective but completely safe as well?
Cheers
Phil

Re: D114 Dilution Ratio as a WATERLESS Wash on CQUK?
I believe Meguiar's recommends 1:128 for heavy cleaning, so 1/4 oz. in a 32 oz bottle. I suppose you could go to a higher concentration, but you'd just be wasting product. I'm certain they've tested it thoroughly, and would recommend a higher concentration if it were necessary, because then they could/would sell you D114 more often.

1:128 will do it. Great product for coatings. Great product period. Its also a good IPA replacement at 1:15.
In my day we didn't have the Internet, iPods,iPads, or smart phones....but we had some really bad-azz cars.

I envy your local store carry meg D114
I recommend 1:100
My go to for D114 (waterless wash) on coating would be at 1:10.

For a waterless-wash...
The 32oz. spray bottle should contain:
• 31.8oz of distilled water; and:
• 0.2oz of D114

It's 1:128 for "waterless-wash".
1:10 is getting mighty close to "wax stripper" strength.

I thought that was for "rinseless-wash"?
EDIT: Over on this page Meguiars Rinse Free Express Wash, rinseless car wash, no rinse they talk about using it for removal of compound or polish residue or paint prep at 1:15. I dunno but I'm not finding anything about using this as a waterless.

If you're going to use it as a waterless wash you should at least double that ratio (1 ounce per gallon).
As a clay lube, the standard dilution ratio works quite well."[unquote]
