Dealer coatings??? How good are they for Realz?

I gave a card to a kind of co-worker,(I am a rep for the worlds largest purveyor of salty snacks) she works at the largest retailer. Anyway, sh told me her 2015 Mustang had a dealer coating that would last 7 years???? Is this true? Is $1300 a lot? My first time getting This response. And no, I do not know what they used as far as name brand. Thanks

As far as I know, no dealer offers a true coating. What they put on is (again, AFAIK) a spray sealant. I think most of them too require that the car be returned for some sort of "renewal" to guarantee the protection, so in other words, it doesn't last as long as they claim. Whatever it is, it's definitely not worth whatever the dealer is charging.

My dealer offers Ceramic Pro 9H.

However, most dealer coatings are not true coatings and are not worth it.
