    Looks like you purchased a 3.5 Gallon bucket instead of a 5 Gallon one. Just bring it back and get the bigger one.

    Lowe's sells two different buckets. Different molds. They have two grey ones and two white ones. You need to get the other grey bucket. Look at the bottom of the bucket. I believe the one you want should say encore plastics on the bottom. I have many Lowe's grey and white buckets that fit the grit guards just fine.

    Those ones don't fit the Grit Guard tightly though. The Grit Guard can spin around easily.

    Take it back, they have an excellent return policy.

    All my Lowes/HD buckets fit my GG from AG.
