Need Advice: SNOBRuM or Snow Joe

    SNOBRuM or Snow Joe

These appear very similar, so similar I didn't realize there were two different products until I went to buy one. As far as I can tell the differences are:

    1. Snow Joe's handle attaches to the head for storage
    2. Snow Joe extends 3" farther
    3. Snow Joe has a scraper on the broom handle
    4. SNOBRuM has way more reviews

I'm leaning toward the Snow Joe. Personally, I like the easy storage. And the scraper at the end of the broom handle would be nice for reaching without leaning in snow and getting wet.

So is there anything I need to know? Are the broom heads different sizes? Is one softer than the other? Does one have better quality over the other?

    Thanks in advance, guys.

I can say the Snobrum does a great job, however seeing the additional features on the Snow Joe that would be my choice. I currently carry the snowbrum and an ice scraper. 2 in 1 sounds much more appealing! Especially since it all clicks together into one piece when not in use.

I have the Snow Joe. Only real weakness is the telescoping handle is a PITA to operate.

Works great for me though. I have a full size pick up and I can easily get the entire roof and scrape the entire windshield without rubbing against the paint.

Thanks for the warning. I have a Mustang, so I doubt I'll even need to extend it. I'm just concerned I won't be able to reach the middle of the windshield, without leaning, using the Ice Master Multi-Blade Ice Scraper.

Haha that review had me cracking up, and it was helpful, so thank you.

I especially appreciate that you updated with the locking issue and Snow Joe's suggested fix. How does the scraper attach to the pole? I couldn't see that part in the pictures, but the pole doesn't look like it has any special features for attaching the scraper. I'm thinking I could just replace the pole with a standard extendable pole from the hardware store if it becomes an issue. What do you think? (posting the same question in your thread)

Cool, happy to hear my Snow Joe review was helpful!

Good question about the scraper: it's held on with tension only. Don't get me wrong - it's very tight fit and isn't going anywhere. I had to use channel lock pliers in order to muscle it off!

Great idea about using a standard extendable pole! And you're right, it's a basic threaded end that screws into the SnowJoe's foam head. I'll try out the extension pole I use for painting ceilings tonight and let you know if it fits.

My snobrum extension mech broke maybe 8 or more years ago but the thing still works awesome. I will buy another Snobrum when the time comes. Remote starter and snobrum is the ticket...no scraping for me.

I have the SnoBrum and like it.

There are several coworkers of mine who got the Snow Joe and like it as well. So if you are leaning towards to Joe, get it.
