So2Pure and Dark Surfaces
I was considering trying some of this but there are warnings that the photo reaction of the product may cause some lightening on very dark or black surfaces.
The vehicle I want to use it on has a black interior with fabric/velour seats, I'm concerned about fading or whatever the effect of "can remove some pigments from surfaces" would be.
Anyone have any input on this?

Re: So2Pure and Dark Surfaces
That's why I'm still so hesitant to use this product.
Just a thought:
I suppose a vehicle with dark interior appointments could be kept indoors, away from UV, for an extended period of time...even be just considered to be a night-rider.
•But since it's stated to be a "semi-permanent" product:
-How long will it take for the active ingredient(s)
to no longer be active?

From its product description:
Does So2Pure liquid cause any fabric discoloration or any streaking effects on solid surfaces?
"If the surface is exposed to direct sunlight, do not apply to black or very dark colored surfaces as the oxidation process can remove some pigments from surfaces.
When spraying any surface with So2Pure liquid, it is always advisable to spray a small area first (test area) then allow to dry to make sure the solution does not react with the surface".

Re: So2Pure and Dark Surfaces
It means do not apply under direct sunshine the So2pure ,always apply on the shade, if you use it on black plastic ,once sprayed you need to wipe it off after , Sopure is not permanent coat and can be removed by apc or or other cleaners.
on fabric surfaces is only to be sprayed, where most of the odors and germs are trapped

Re: So2Pure and Dark Surfaces
I have some of this and have used it without issue on my lighter colored interior (tan seats / carpet).
I just did a quick application on a piece of dark plastic, and the darkest microfiber I own. Will leave it in the sun today and report back. Not very scientific, but maybe it'll help..

Re: So2Pure and Dark Surfaces
Titanium Dioxide, the main reactive ingredient in So2Pure, is the same mineral used for white pigments in paint. Because of this if the product is applied too heavily to dark fabric, or if not wiped away from dark plastic trim, it can appear to leave a white, glittery film. Simply using it as directed will avoid this problem.
Key points:
- Don't over saturate fabric surfaces. A light mist is all that is necessary to treat each area.
- Wipe away excess product after applying to hard surfaces.
So2Pure is probably one of the most underrated products from CarPro. It works extremely well.

Re: So2Pure and Dark Surfaces
How much of this do you use? I see they only have the 120ml bottle here at AG while some other places have a liter for ~4x the price.

Just now saw this. I probably only use around 10-20ml per vehicle. A little goes a long way.

Re: So2Pure and Dark Surfaces
I've been using for the past year and never a problem. Like Avi said always apply in the shade. I love this product and most detailer's don't even know about this product. After the first time I used it I was sold.
