Couple quick questions about collinite 845

    Hey guys.
So I am planning on waxing with 845 tomorrow. I have read the comprehensive guide on here and that helps a lot.
But what I didn't see mentioned was how to do sections.
On the bottle it says to do 2x2 sections. Does this mean apply, let dry to a haze, then remove, one 2x2 section at a time?

And in general, how long does it take to dry/haze after applying?
    Thanks!

Re: Couple quick questions about collinite 845

Everyone probably does it a little different, but I apply to the whole car, wait 45 minutes to an hour, then wipe off in the order I put it on. Could probably wipe off in 30 minutes in hot dry weather. 45-60 minutes in humid or cooler weather (like below 60F).

I do the same. Whole car, wait, wipe off in same order. That is not 845 specific for me that is with all wax I put on.

I apply via red LC pad with a PC. I feel it makes the application much thinner and easier. I tend to use 845 mostly on my boat so I go around the whole boat and then come back and buff off. If I found I applied it to thick in some areas I just spray some QD on a MF towel when I am buffing.

Re: Couple quick questions about collinite 845

I follow the manufacturers directions in a way that makes the process as expedient as possible.

I apply the wax to a panel.

While it's drying i apply it to the next panel or 2x2 area.

I then go back and do the swipe test on the first panel that was waxed. If it's clear I buff the wax off.

I then move to the 3rd panel or area to apply wax.

I then go back to the 2nd waxed panel and swipe test. If it is clear i buff it off then move to 4th panel. If it's not clear i leave it and move to 4th panel anyways.

I find that this method works the best. This way you are following all manufacturers recommendations and experts opinions simultaneously.

If the swipe test passes that means the wax has bonded to the paint as well as it is going to before removal. I do not see an added benefit of leaving it on longer, just makes it more difficult to remove.

I've applied #845 to the entire car and then removed, works great every single time w/o effort or dust. I like this way because you do the application to the car all at once and then remove all at once, none of this apply, remove, apply remove, etc.

I'm in the "let it sit" camp. For me, its about 30~45 minutes. I'm not very scientific on my wait times.

I'll typically apply it to the entire car then go work on something else on the car and then come back to buff it off.
