Sonax net shield or 476?
Hey all. I'm getting ready to execute my winter detail on my yukon. I have only used collinite 476 since I got her in 07. I love the way it beads water and protects.
I have been reading a lot about the Sonax polymer net shield lately and I'm thinking about giving it a try this winter. I realize they are both great products and will most likely last a fair amount of time. However, would one last longer and protect from the winter elements better?
I'm also hearing conflicting advise about the application of Sonax. Will I have to do an eraser wipe down before the application? I just put a layer on 476 about a month back. I am also planning on spot claying because I clayed the whole truck a few months back.
Thanks for any feedback friends.
Regards,
Brian

I use the net shield in winter it works great, holds up and lasts all winter for me, I touch it up with sonax BSD. Very good products..

I would top it with the Collinite 476; no need to change when it's a proven performerAwesome stuff!

You should have a squeaky clean surface before applying any sealant...period, otherwise why waste the money and time? Either product gets you through the winter. PNS is a game changing product in so far as post washing/drying. Its as close to touchless maintenance as anything I've used including coatings. I only need to foam, pressure wash, and wipe dry using a waterless wash...no buckets anymore. Last winter was brutal and I put my car through over 20 commercial touchless carwashes and the car looked like I just did a full detail. Words can't do PNS justice. I'd apply it in warm weather. Don't top it with a lousy wax...leave it alone and hit it with a waterless wash like UWW after washing it every couple of washes. I take my car to all the local car shows so I'm very meticulous about how it looks. Its also a DD.
In my day we didn't have the Internet, iPods,iPads, or smart phones....but we had some really bad-azz cars.

If you have been using 476s since 2007 why change now? You know what to expect.

I like both but I like the the look you get from PNS.
I just finished this X3 and protected it with PNS

I like pns. The application is a bit tricky, but the beading and dirt release are great. Don't think you can go wrong with either.

What did you have difficulty with?
When I use it I just do a small section(2'x2') at a time and buff off immediately. I've actually found it to be one of the simplest products to use.

Every time I think about applying an LSP,
that's in an aerosol can, it reminds me of
the words in the chorus of a Jim Croce song:

You don't spit into the wind...."
