I've used the sponge. It works great.

    I use:

Riccardo medium (yellow) - excellent clay
Pinnacle Ultra Fine Poly Clay - good for lighter uses

Re: What type of clay system do you use, regular clay bar, fine clay bar, nanoskin claybar style handmit?

I own 3M clay, Megs Clay, Mother's clay, and some others.

I also own Nanoskin 6" Pad (medium), sponges, 2 towels and a fine grade and medium grade mitt.

    Order of (my) preference:

Nanoskin Medium Mitt (by far what I grab the most)
    Nanoskin Fine Mitt
    Nanoskin Towel
    Nanoskin Sponge
    'Conventional Clay'

Hope that helps in your research,

Here you are some example of nanoskin Marring that may occur at some extent:

Nanoskin Sponge when I am doing any sort of correction work.
Riccardo Yellow Clay when I want to avoid marring.

Nanoskin medium wash mitt. I use it with a bucket of optimum car wash, haven't really noticed any marring, but just about every car I've used it on was white.

I used a fine Nanoskin clay towel for the first time recently. A lot easier than regular clay - no kneading or worry about dropping it on the ground and it’s a lot easier to hold. I folded the towel into fourths and used each side and then rinsed it in a bucket of ONR once all sides were used. I’m not sure how it’s supposed to really work. I thought that regular clay grabs on to and traps contaminants and then you knead the clay to push them deeper into the clay. With the towel, where do the trapped contaminants go?

I use the Nanoskin fine towel 80% of the time with lots (mucho) of Amigo lube. I also will use the 6 inch Nanoskin disks, fine and medium on occasion. I like the towel better because I get more control. I haven’t seen any marring with the towel after over 2 years of use. Be sure to use a good lube so the towel slides across the panel. I feel using a good clay lube has prevented any marring. If you are planning to polish after claying any lube or soap will do. I only use the disks on heavily contaminated vehicles and I know I’m going to polish afterwards. If you love it, lube it.

I used my Nanoskin fine clay towel for the first time. After wards I rinsed it out with a hose and hung it to dry. Now how do I store it! I read elsewhere that if it is stored folded with the clay touching that it will stick to itself.
