Maybe less time until you have to correct and seal it again after you notice new flaws in your paint. I feel the majority of the folks who do it my way don't want to invest the time, resources, or effort into paint correction. They just want it to look good even if it's just "makeup". And that's fine with me. It's a free country.

If you do the GDWM properly and have good/clean wash media you won't have that issue.

No matter what method you use IMHO you should start off on corrected paint- if you corrrect it and seal it and then use the 2BM or GDWM you'll have many months of great looking paint.

I personally prefer the GDWM because it achieves the results you describe - just in less steps.

In a perfect world perhaps. Improper washing isn't the only threat. What if your car is parked outside where many factors from weather to cats to daily driving activities may introduce flaws into paint? Many people including myself are in that situation.

And when discussing paint correction professionals, hobbyists as well as enthusiasts understand and for the most part agree. But ask most people outside of that group (which is the majority of the public) about claying, wetsanding, polishing, or compunding and see if you don't get clueless looks staring back at you.
