Large Detailing Event - Would like input. 40 vehicles.

I'm in the midst of solidifying an agreement to do a detailing event for a local casino's VIP clients. I'm doing an on site visit next week and completing all of the paperwork to be a vendor, insurance information, ect. before the date is finalized. At this point, it is looking to be in mid October.

I would like some input on overall setup, thoughts, complications, and ideas about the event. It's not the organization but the execution that I'm wanting to really nail down before I get any further.

I've already contacted Nick and there is the possibility that if this goes full steam ahead of getting some AG product support.

Rundown:

The event will take place on a Saturday afternoon.
The event will take place over an 8 hour period.
The VIP's will be given time slots to bring their vehicle in between (presumably) 12-4 P.M.(the 4 P.M. vehicles would be presumably done by 8 P.M. at the latest)
The service offered for each vehicle will be an express style detail

I'm planning on having a 6 person crew, including myself, to pull this off. I'm trying to get as many enthusiasts or pro's as possible within the budget I will be working within, but it is possible I will have some inexperienced staff working it. I would love to call a bunch of pro's in to fill every need but would never want to insult someone by offering less than their time is worth. As it is I'm still going to try and pay everyone well for their time and efforts.

I will have access to water, electricity, and will be bringing a large pop up canopy in case of rain/inclement weather.

The express detail that we have tentatively agreed upon will include:

Vacuum
Interior wipe down (Megs Quik Interior Detail, maybe DP interior cleaner)
Interior windows
Rinseless or 2 bucket wash (ONR or DP Rinseless, DP car wash)
Spray wax (D156 or Optimum Car Wax)
Tire Dressing (Opti-Bond or DP Tire Gel)

I'm wanting for every vehicle to have a "good" cleaning, but it has to be balanced with the very small amount of time that will be allotted for each vehicle.

I'm planning on having two 3 person crews, one interior, one exterior. Each person will have a specific job.

Questions I would specifically like input on:

Is there anything I can do/use to speed up the process?
Are there any wild cards I should take into consideration?
Is this going to be enough staff to complete this amount of work in 8 hours?

The one thing I would do to speed up the washing process would be to use a pressure washer if available instead of two bucket method. For a basic wash with spray wax, you shouldn't have any trouble doing the entire account. Don't waste time cleaning the wheel barrels.

Go with a waterless car wash if you can, thats what we did when we were in Elizabthtown, KY for the cruisin the heartland event. That and make sure you have plenty of power and lighting

I will definetely have my pressure washer with me. If the opportunity to wash ahead of the interior crew comes I will be taking it.

It is going to be a ton of work. 8 hours of constant moving to pull this off. That's why I was hoping for some good input/advice. Any thing to make this go smoother and easier will be nice.

im with the other guys when talking about pressure washing or rinseless/waterless. depending on the skill level of the people doing the washing, you would be much quicker than a 2 bucket and hose wash.

i would just make sure if you are doing waterless washes that you get plenty of solution premixed and into jugs, and use garden sprayers to lay it out, trigger fingers wear out quick when that is the only thing you are doing all day. plus you get more out quicker. and saturation is key with waterless.

the bonus of waterless is you'll save time on drying as well, maybe have a rinsing station ahead of the waterless/rinseless station to knock dirt off.

maybe have your drying step included into the spray wax step. spray wax as the drying aid will cut the time done for trying and waxing in half instead of drying and then waxing after.

you could even have people inside the vehicle doing the interior wipedowns as the drying/waxing is being done depending on how busy it is.

One real benefit of waterless is that if needed you can basically wash the car while the interior is being done. Looks like a 5 like a 5 gallon bucket of HD Touch might be heading my way soon unless someone can suggest a more economical waterless solution.
