No, not working for me--perhaps at their Facebook page?

Big news all over where? And people were upset that OC 2.0 was gone, that the replacement was inferior, that the replacement is more expensive? Or they were upset that OC Pro had a price increase?

Facebook, at least 2 or 3 separate posts going on. There was also a rep that confirmed the news on one of them

Hmmmmmm just read some of this:
Here is what Chris Thomas had to say on the topic:
Opti-Coat 2.0 is discontinued and Gloss-Coat is your base coating offering which will outperform other signature coatings , Opti-Coat Pro is more exclusive and there is NO confusion whether you're the real deal or not because all come with warranty now. Your cost for the product is exactly the same as with the 40cc and the warranty price is passed on to the customer. All change is resisted, but these changes were necessary.

That still doesn't clarify if Gloss-Coat is an inferior product to OC 2.0 (I guess I'm referring to durability, because it touts gloss and slickness, which would perhaps be considered an improvement; the application doesn't sound any different).

From what I have gathered so far opti gloss will be a 2 year life coating.
Seems as if there will no longer be a "Permanent" consumer level coating from optimum

Re: Opticoat 2.0 discontinued, OptiCoat Pro sees price increase
it's my humble opinion that the OPT coatings were severely under priced per application vs. the competition and for a long time.
also, i'd be willing to bet that the Gloss-Coat product is superior to 2.0 in every way
if there are any pros who have a beef with the new changes, by all means, make sure you contact the manufacturer and voice your opinions. open up a debate with your colleagues and let OPT know what's going on in your discussions. that sort of feedback is crucial imo.

I'm sure they still consider OCP to be a "permanent" coating even though it will only have a 5 year warranty.

by who? certainly not the manufacturer. OPT does almost zero marketing that i've seen.
either way, there are plenty of pros all over the world who will refute your statement. they make a living installing OPT stuff.
