spray wax reflection ( shine) rating

Thought I read some where that there was a rating on the amount of reflection or shine a spray wax puts out? May be my imagination?? Not considering durability and such, I have two of the top spray waxes IMO, but have a white car and frankly can't tell the difference. Probably could tell better on a dark color. I have Meguire's Ultimate quick wax and Souveran spray wax. Kind of nit picky but was just curious.

Same here. My car DP paint coating and WDGPS on top. During my weekly wash I usually top it off with spray wax to revive the slickness. But frankly I can't tell the difference between spray waxes. They make the paint slick but the shine seems the same. I have OCW, Aquawax, Wolfgang Spritz Sealant, XMT, Sonax BSD, Megs Ultimate SW, CG V7, etc. I can't even tell the difference between those and 3M SW and Eagle One Nanowax Spray. I even have Prima Hydro Max & Hydro wax as you dry on order. I think maybe we can only see the difference between spray waxes on a car that has no wax at all. But on waxed, sealed, and coated cars its hard to tell the difference because its the shine of the LSP underneath thats showing. Just my thoughts...

I cant tell either, but my wife said when I switched to CG V7 that her car looked especially shiny. Im not sure if thats true or not, but thats what I use on her car now.

You are not comparing the same thing. Megs is a full synthetic sealant whereas Souveran is actually a carnauba wax.

If you actually want wax then compare Souveran to Optimum spray wax for a comparison. They both contain carnauba wax.

Polish is shine, wax is protection.

Refractive indices' values (they range from 1.30-1.55) of detailing Spray Waxes can vary by/through chemical manipulation.

This allows the formulator to have more than one option (from a functional group point of view), as to which ingredients to choose.

    However:
I doubt very seriously they'd share their:
    Soups' Ingredients!!

If "polish is shine, wax is protection" then there is no difference between $8 spray wax and $30 spray wax in terms of shine. Difference would be only longevity of the protection. Same would apply to waxes and sealants.
