Honda Civic Detail for Dad
Hello all,
I am a noob to the whole detailing process, but recently worked wonders on my black Lexus LS460L with Blackfire products and finishing her with Klasse sealant topped with Souveran.
I'm now gearing up to detail my fathers 2007 Honda Civic, red-ish maroon color. With Honda and Toyota/Lexus being known for their soft paint/clear, I don't anticipate much difference in that regard, however his paint is in much worse shape than my Lexus was when I started. Below are the steps that I plan. Again, this is a plan and not set in stone until I can get a test area in to see how abrasive I need to go.
- wash, clay, wash
- Meguiars m105 w/ white Lake ccs pad, only if needed.
- Meguiars M205 w/ either white or black ccs pad.
From that point is where I need advice. After the M205, I would like to go straight to a sealant. I have read mixed reviews where if using Klasse sealant you need to use their AIO to get the oils from the M205 off for bonding purposes. However, I also have Wolfgang deep gloss sealant 3.0 as well. Is WDGS more forgiving in that it would successfully bond to the paint after using M205? I'm not trying to cut corners by any means, but in light of saving time, I would like to be able to eliminate a step between M205 and sealing. Obviously, my Pops is worth all the minutes/hours/days that it takes to get it right, but I'm just trying to work smarter and not harder.
Thanks AG crew!

Something needs to be completed after polishing for any sealant or coating to bond properly. That said most complete either an IPA wipe down or an Eraser wipe down, just to remove the oils from the polish and ensure proper bonding.
It's all in the details

Re: Honda Civic Detail for Dad
So once I get the IPA mixed just use it like a quick detailer, spray on wipe off?
What is the ideal dilution ratio if I have 70% IPA?
And thank you for your input!!
