I will say that we set prices without expectations of getting a tip, but do welcome it!
As far as I am concerned, a tip is for the "above and beyond". If it is just "average" then the actual cost is enough to make that point (pick you game up), and if it is "mediocre" then the lack of return business will be payment enough.
Tips are at the discretion of the customer. I've received plenty $5 tips off of maintenance washes and one $400 gratuity off of a coating (just because the fellow was that thrilled about the results). You should not set a tip table... that is my opinion!
A tip means the customer thought the work provided was better than what they're paying for IMO. I've been tipped here and there especially for last minute and tight deadline jobs.
I would NEVER expect a tip but would be VERY appreciative of it though! I'd take that tip and buy a product I use on a regular basis, like glass cleaner or mf towels for doing the GD method for instance, right back into the business IMO!

I never expect a tip but some people do give them. I never look at the check or count the cash when the customer hands it to me. I figure I gave them a price and that's what we agreed upon. Anything above that will come depending on how much they like the outcome of the detail. JMHO.
