Re: Harbor Freight Junk!!!!
Folks swear by the HF da.
Just sayin. OP, what were you using HF products for?
I believe in becoming who I am (Translation: You learn everyday.)

Never had a problem with Harbor Freight. Been using their solar lights for years with no issues. Shop smart and you won't have any problems.

I bought a rolling seat from them over the weekend and it works great! Their DA is OK too, but I'll be upgrading sometime soon if I start detailing more.

I've bought some sockets from them that work fine. I mean, I might need to use them 5 times a year....
But, a lot with tools is how you use them. I've seen monkeys with breaker bars snap Mac sockets and turn Snap On wrenches into pretzels.
I also bought an electric impact gun there for like 50 bucks that works fine the 2x a year I need it.
I wouldn't buy a DA from them because for detailing I'd just rather use the best stuff.

To each his own.
Professional mechanics aren't going to get their tools there. Harbor Freight is aimed more at the do it-yourselfers. If you are going to use a tool once in a while, there is no need to spend a ton of cash. I have gotten some things from there with no complaints.
The few times I have been there, I have seen a lot of returns being made.
Like I said, to each his own.

Re: Harbor Freight Junk!!!!
A good friend of mine bought a HF DA a couple of years back, changed the backing plate, never had one issue with it.
I find it has more power than of my Porter Cable 7424XP but not as much as my Griot's Polisher.
I have four machines, but keep in mind not everyone can afford to spend $150.00 for a polisher that they may only use once or twice a year.
If you have the money get you the PC or GG6, if not it's fine to get the HF model , don't let anyone tell you what you should or should not buy.

Re: Harbor Freight Junk!!!!
Wow such hate and animosity, Here is the trick to HF,, RESEARCH THE REVIEWS.
I have the DA,, did the mods, wrote a few how to's on them also, it runs like a champ. We all know the pads are bad, We all know change the BP. I have most my Motorcycle tool bag outfitted between them and Northern tool, A nice set of paint guns (again read the user reviews) and my 21 Gallon oil filled compressor. Yes some of their stuff sucks,, but not all. To A2D figure what you are working on,, most the hand tools are ok but I will agree the socket sets have much to be desired. Yet, I was able to get my needs done with them,, I have seen craftsman and snap-on break also.
Tuscorora (sorry dave i murdered that part) Dave uses his DA non stop and I think he has a second one also. He is no part timer either.
