maxi suds 2 with foam gun question

I just bought a gallon of maxi suds 2. Looks promising. Howeve, It says uses 1 capful to a standard wash bucket. How would I dilute the soap in a foam gun in terms of capfuls. I know capfuls are technically not a measurement, but any ideas?

I have an idea, look in the other threads you started on this topic:

    http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/...ution-off.html

    http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/...-gun-help.html

Especially that second one where Shortspark spent the time to make you a very detailed "instruction manual" including Maxi Suds II.

Re: maxi suds 2 with foam gun question

I suggest to mix about 2-3 ounces to make 32 oz.

Using a cap can be messy anyway (instructions do not take in account a gallon cap is different than a 16 oz cap), so just get a measuring cup. The 16 ox cap I measured was about 7ml (1/4 oz).

im just not understanding if the cap is 1 oz, I guess a measuring cup is safer and more efficient

I measured a 16 oz cap it was 7 milliliters (1/4 ounce) so takes 4 caps to make 1 oz.

So I guess the people who say 2 oz would be 8 caps and 3 oz is 12.

C'mon Bill, ask your mother to get one at the supermarket, or some measuring spoons (1 tablespoon = 0.5 ounces), or a coffee scoop which is usally 2 oz. or this: 1 oz. Measuring Cups

You might also have one of the little cups that comes with cough syrup or other liquid medicines, they are usually graduated in teaspoons (3 teaspoons = 1 tablespoon = 1/2 ounce) or milliliters.

Usually I mix up 64 oz of foam gun solution in an old (car) shampoo bottle, so I typically use 16 oz of soap (for a 1 oz/gal soap), and that's measuring cup territory that your mom can get at the supermarket or steal hers out of the kitchen when she's not looking. Just pretend not to hear her when she asks why the rice tastes like soap.

Re: maxi suds 2 with foam gun question

My note is to not rely on the caps and what they measure. CG usually specs dilution such as 1 oz per 4 to 5 gallons for bucket wash but did not like it less than 1 oz to 2 gallons myself.

Try 2 to 3 ounces and adjust...more if you want more suds, etc.
