FLEX 3401 backing plates
are there any smaller backing plates adaptable for the flex so can use 3 or 4 inch pads?

The smallest BP available is the 4" plate that is part of the Lake Country interchangeable BP system.
With this plate the smallest pads you can use with the 3501 is 4" pads.
